ICAP and ASCA Resources

The 2009 School Finance Act mandated a CollegeInColorado.org account for every 6th-grader and an individual career and academic plan (ICAP)PDF icon by 9th grade. The Colorado Department of Education approved the rules and guidelinesPDF icon for these items on January 13, 2010. College In Colorado has everything you need to meet these requirements in a free, customizable way.

Counseling Center Makeover Contest

College In Colorado partnered with Denver's Channel 7 and IKEA to bring you the Third Annual Counseling Center Makeover! Schools entered the contest for a face lift worth up to $3,000 to be completed by the College In Colorado staff. Application entries were due by March 16, 2012; watch for winner information here.

Have Students Interested in the Military or Taking the ASVAB?

Students taking the Armed Services Vocation Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) should record scores in their College In Colorado portfolio; the ASVAB scores may also be set up as an ICAP activity. The ASVAB is the most widely used multiple-aptitude test battery in the world designed to measure strengths, weaknesses, and potential for future success. District-wide Data Now Available on Report Central

College In Colorado has recently added an important new data aggregation tool for school districts called Report CentralPDF icon. This tool provides district-wide aggregation of student work on CollegeInColorado.org. It gives districts the power to build a custom report for one school, several schools or all schools, choose the type of report from more than 35 usage and outcome reports.

Batch Account Creation is Here

The School Finance Act of 2009 specified that each 6th grade student have a CollegeInColorado.org account. College In Colorado has greatly reduced any additional burden these requirements may impose with batch account creation.

If a school can create a .csv-formatted file (such as an Excel spreadsheet) from their Student Information System that contains the correct student data, CollegeInColorado.org will create, free-of-charge, an account for each student in the file. Download step-by-step instructions herePDF icon.

The College In Colorado Website includes a Professional Center Website with which to build your ICAP and plans of study, review your students' work, track their progress and message your students.
